About:Packing Tips for Traveling China

Hi! my family are traveling to beijing on december 28 to 31? is it okay to wear ballet flats? or what better shoes would you suggest? i was planning to buy boots, a friend told me it would be very cold this time of the year....thank you very much in advance

You can wear ballet flats if you like, but it is cold in Beijing now, you'd better wear omfortable and warm shoes like boots or thick sneakers. Maybe your friend is right.
