About:Chinese Embassy in Vietnam

I am a british citizen travelling through asia in a couple of months, i want to enter china from vietnam. How easy will it be for me to apply for a one month, single entry visa while in vietnam - so i have enough time to travel through china to get to hong kong??

I hear that non-resident applicants can't get a China visa from Hanoi, you need to go to China consulate in Ho Chi Mihn City to apply for visa. Generally speaking, it is not hard for British citizen to get a single entry visa in vietnam.
