About:Chinese Embassy in Canada

Hi! I am Canadian with Canadian passport. I live in Shanghai, China for 2 years now. I have a valid residence permit.
During my vacation in Montreal I decided to renew my passport.
They cancel my old passport and now I am waiting for the new one.
I would like to know if the residence permit stamped on my old passport will still be valid when I return to China next week.
Considering that my old passport was already cancelled but then I have in there residence permit valid until March 2011.
Thanks for your help.

When you return to China next week, please bring the old passport and new passport together, the residence permit stamped on your old passport can be still used to enter China.
