About:Chinese Embassy in Philippines

Hi I am a freelancer and currently not employed. I have a friend working in China and he passed my application to his boss. Now,the company wants to hire me and start to work in their company next year possible January 2011 for probation for 3 mos but the company said work visa will be processed after passing probation. This is my first time to go to china and I am a Philippine passport holder. They want me to initially go to china on a business visa for 2-3 mos, they said they will take care of everything. Only few weeks is left and maybe it is difficult to apply for business visa here in Manila to catch Jan 2011 expected joining date. They said they will help me to get my business visa in HK?Is it possible?I am Filipino and residing here in Philippines. Is getting visa in HK allowed for Philippine resident? Is it assured visa can be granted in HK for Philippine passport holder provided company will provide necessary documents? Hoping anybody can reply or have experienced the same situation as mine.Appreciate your help. Thanks in advance.Happy holidays to all.

you can apply for a China business visa in HK. But you'd better try again to process your visa in Philippines, it should be easier. By the way, no one can ensure you with it, whether issue you a visa or not, even the visa type, duration and validity are all depend on the visa officers.

hi Ms. Enid.Thank you for your reply. But is it okay that I will join a company initially using tourist visa?Or it is better the company secure me first a business visa here in Manila when joining them. I have an opportunity already signed it but I am worried if I will join them using only tourist visa. I insisted they shoulkd sponsor me a business visa even though I will work for them upon arrival to china as direct hire...hoping for your advice on this matter. By the way where are you in china? Are you from embassy or you know somebody who can assist. It seems my employer is nor knowledgeable about business visa requirements. Is the original "Visa Notification Form" will be filled up by the company inviting me?Where to secure that form? The contact person from the company dont know this form what it is and where to get it.Thanks for your help.

It is better for you to get a Business Visa here in Manila when you go to work in China. Chinese Tourist Visa holders are not allowed to work in China, it is illegal, second, tourist visa generally permits you to stay in China for 30 days, you can't stay in China for 3 months probation.

Your employer needs to go to local Foreign Affairs Office or Bureau of Foreign Trade and economic Cooperation to apply for Visa Notification Form for you.
