About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

Hi. I hold an Australian passport and as I was born in Hong Kong I also hold a 回鄉證(Home Return Permit). If I do take a flight from Australia to Guangzhou can I use the Home Return Permit for entry in China without the need to apply for a visa using my Australian passport? Thank you!

Is your Home Return Permit still valid? When did you get it from HK?

The Home Return permit is still valid. It was renewed from HK a few years back as I used to visit HK and then off to China using the Home Return Permit. Just that this time I am thinking of taking a flight straight to Guangzhou instead of going to HK then to Guangzhou.

But I heard that this Home Return Permit can only be used to enter China mainland from the certain ports which open to outside.
