my chinese passport will expire on jan 09,2010.

Question

My Chinese passport will expire on Jan 09,2010. However I need to travel to Mexico in December 29, 2010. I learned that to renew a passport needs 4 weeks. Can I apply for the China Travel Document and use it along with my maple card to travel to Mexico? Is there any problem to go back to Canada? Thanks a lot.

I think that you can apply for China Travel Document and use it along with your Maple Card to travel to Mexico because now you don't have time to renew your passport. As for the return to Canada, you'd better enquire Canada immigration. Next time, you'd better apply for renewal of your passport 6 months before expiration.
