About:Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka

Hi my husband & myself are going to be leaving to visit hong kong on monday 20th dec, while we are visiting hong kong we wish to travel by train into china & stay for a few days, what we need to no is do we need a visa to enter china as we are both traveling on british passports. Please could you advice us & if we do need a visa what documents do we have to suply & can we get visa sorted out in one day?

Yes, you both need a visa to enter China even though you hold British passports. You can apply for Tourist Visa to China(https://www.travelchinaguide.com/embassy/visa/tourist.htm) You can find the requirements listed on the page of Tourist Visa, you can't get visa in one day, if you apply for the rush service, it takes 2 working days for visa processing.
