About:China Visa Application in USA

My children and I are US Citizens going to China in April for 2 weeks. My children's US passports expire in June. Is this ok? The airline thought their US passports needed to be good for 6 months after our scheduled return from China.

You'd better apply for new US passports for your children. A passport with at least 6 months validity is required for China Visa Application(https://www.travelchinaguide.com/embassy/visa.htm) When you apply for China visa in late February or eary March, their passports don't have 6 months remaining validity.
