As a native-born religion in China, Taoism influences Chinese culture a lot. Ancient Chinese thought that everything had spirit, so they worshipped the nature, soul and ancesters, and then combined ancesters with divine. While Taoism is just a religion worshiping divine. Until nowadays, it is still popular to ask monks to mourn the death to pray for a happy life in the heaven for the dead; the couple would worship Heaven & Earth when getting married.

Say something better known about Taoism. You may heard of Fengshui and Yin-yang theories. They are all from Taoism. Taoism teach people how to cultivate moral character and develop temperament and maintaining health, emphasis getting close to nature. To solve every problem by acclimating the order of nature.
