About:Traveling Cost in China

I am travelling from South Korea to Shanghai. How much is the train to Lhasa?
Is it expensive to stay in Lhasa? How much should I pay for a tour guide for 4 days in Lhasa? Is it necessary to be with them even if I am not visiting a tourist spot?

You mean the train from Shanghai(https://www.travelchinaguide.com/cityguides/shanghai.htm) to Lhasa(https://www.travelchinaguide.com/cityguides/tibet/lhasa/), the ticket prices are: CNY406 for hard seat, CNY684 for soft seat, the hard berth is CNY683, CNY707 & CNY731 from the upper to the lower.

As for the accommodation, Lhasa Hotels are comparatively cheaper than Shanghai Hotels.

It's said that you have to pay at least CNY300 for an English tour guide per day if you only hire a guide without taking any Tibet Tour(https://www.travelchinaguide.com/tour/tibet/). You can stay with the tour guide after your visiting.
