About:Embassy & Consulates of Japan in China

Hi, I am a Malaysian citizen currently staying with my sister who is working in Guangxi, China. I currently hold a 30 days tourist visa but will be extending it to 6 months or 1 year. I would like to know whether I can apply for a Visa to Japan in China? My plan is to fly from Guangzhou to Tokyo, visit Tokyo for 1 week, then from Tokyo back to Kuala Lumpur. Thank you for your help.
