About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

I am a kenyan national currently residing in the united states, as China's role in the world increases dramatically, It is obvious that English, being the unofficial International language, China clearly will need to have many of her citizens able to proficiently communicate in the language. I am interested in teaching English in China. I am interested in knowing how I go about applying for such a position in China, and the process applying for a visa?

Hello Sir.

Do you have an American passport? If so you won't have a problem getting a job in Government run schools and private colleges and Universities. For this though you must have a degree or Tefl, Tesol, Celta etc. If you want a job in training centers where many teachers go to teach you will find it very easy. Both myself and my wife are just finishing in the next two weeks after being here for a year. Salary is ok but not the best but you will live ok on it. I have been teaching at other places in China with higher salary but i have really enjoyed it here. Give it a go sir you won't have a problem getting work and you will enjoy teaching in China.

You can first apply for a China Travel Visa(https://www.travelchinaguide.com/embassy/visa/tourist.htm) to go to China to find a job, generally speaking, it is not hard to find an English teaching position in China if you have a Bachelor Degree. Please bear in mind find a employer who can obtain the Alien Work Permit and Visa Notification Form for you, otherwise, you can't apply for China work visa. Then return to USA to apply for work visa from Chinese Embassy/Consulate in USA(https://www.travelchinaguide.com/embassy/united_states.htm) according to division of consular jurisdiction.
