i'm going to beijing in end dec. advisiable to goto the summer palace during this period? how long is the journey if i were to take the subway from Wangfujing station to beigongmen station?

It is less than 10 minutes from Wangfujing to Xidan by Subway line 1 and then change to Line 4 from Xidan to Beigongmen, another 30 minutes on the way.
