About:Tsim Sha Tsui

Hi,

My partner and I will be in HK from December 7-10 (4days 3 nights). We got a deal from our travel agent that includes tickets, accommodations (Dorset Fareast) and land transfers (airport-hotel-airport). Our ideal itinerary is:

Dec7: Arrive at HK, 10am. Ocean park; night market
Dec8: Complimentary half day tour (included in the package); Then Ngong ping 360; night market
Dec9: Disney; night market
Dec10: malls, street markets, Jade market; departure is 930pm

Here are my questions:
1. Which travel pass should we purchase, an on-load Octopus card or the Airport express travel pass (again, we dont really need airport transfers since it's already provided in our travel package)? Which is more suited for us?

2. Is there a $50 refund if we opt for the Airport express travel pass?

3. If we purchase an Airport express travel pass and try to load it, does this void the unlimited 3 days use of the MTR/Bus etc?

4. Can we use an octopus/Airport express travel pass on City buses?

5. Offline: re: night/street markets: which street markets should we visit? (I read too many tourist traps articles)

Looking forward to your response.

Thank you!

Buy the on-load Octopus. Airport express do not include the bus fare. The airport express costs 220 or 300 HK dollars. The price contains the refund 50HKD. You can load it after three days. Can not use it in city bus. Yes, too much market and night streets in your travel itineary! The most famous night market in Hong Kong is Temple Street night Market. Jade Market is just next to the temple street. Avoid to see so many streets markets and night markets. There are many other places worth a visit in Hong Kong. Temple street and Jade market is enough. Lady's street is also okay if you are interested to see.
