I intend visiting Beijing for just 1.5 days! Is it possible to check out the Great wall, Forbidden City & the Tiananmen Square within this time? Is there also any other place that should not be missed within this short time? Thanks.

It is enough to visit these places in 1.5 day. You could spend one day to go to the great wall; on the way, it is worthy to visit the Ming Tombs(https://www.travelchinaguide.com/attraction/beijing/ming_tomb.htm) .
