At hotels, nice resturants, large departmetn stores&supermarkets and fashion stores, credit card is widely accepted. However, you'd better take enough RMB cash when traveling around Shanghai. Cash is required when purchasing small goods, entrance tickets, bus, metro and taxi fare.

Change money is very convenient in Shanghai, since almost every bank does have this service.
