The weather of Zhangjiajie Scenic Area will be cold at the end of Dec. The average temperature during daytime is about 10C and around zero at early morning and night. But no chilly wind. In case of the sudden snow or other bad weather, you'd better pay attention to the weather forecast before leaving.

I just returned from a trip to Zhangjiajie. It was snowing on the morning I left (15 Dec). The winds were strong at certain places; even in Changsha on our return to Singapore, it was snowing and very windy. Definitely need winter clothing.
