About:Getting to Kunming

From Kunming to Dali. Please kindly advise if I should take bus, train, or Taxi? Is there a long distance bus? Do they have travel agency inside the hotels? Where can I catch the train from Dali to Lijiang. Thank you very much for your time answering my questions.

Well, the express bus departing from Kunming Nanyao Bus Station could take you to Dali City in 4~4.5 hours, more quickly than taking a train. Of course, it also saves time if you take the night train from Kunming to Dalu. There are two trains (K9614/K9615, L9602/L9603) leaving Kunming at around 23:00 and arrive in Dali the next 06:00.

The distance from Dali to Lijiang is about 165km, taking 1.5 hours by train from Dali Railway Station. Taking bus is also convenient.

Some star-rated hotels do have travel agency. However, if you would like to have a long trip from Kunming to Lijiang via Dali, suggested that you book a Yunnan Tour(https://www.travelchinaguide.com/tour/yunnan/) in advance. It will take you more time and money to join one on the spot.
