Dear visa Officer,
I have recieved an invitation to attend an international research conference in Chengdu, 18-19 Dec 2010. I have all the documents ready but the embassy say that they cannot accept the Visa Notification Letter which the organizers have sent me as it is not issued by the Foreign Ministry office (eventhough the form is correct).. The embassy wants the organisers to obtain a visa notification form from the Chengdu foreign office and fill it, sign it, scan it and send it to me which I must produce at the consular office.
I write to the organisers but they have not responded yet. They are generally very slow and doesnt take things seriously.
I have purchased my air tickets, booked hotels but now I have a problem of getting the visa.
Is there any alternative.
Cant the consulate division contact the organisers and check the details and issue the visa. I am prepared to pay for the call.
What other options are there.
As I also need to get trasit visa to Thailand, the available time is not enough unless the organisers act quickly.
Please advise me.
This is my 5th visit to China and the second one this year.
Thank you
L. Dissanayake
