Hi,
I am going to be in beijing from 27th November to 3rd and my friend and I would love to visit and/or hike a remote section of the great wall. We are not interested in the tourist sections of the wall such as Badaling.

How do we arrange a hike on the Jiankou Great wall?
Also, do you know how we can organise accommodation at Zhao's Hostel near Jiankou?

Thanks

Hi, you may take a public bus to Jiankou Great Wall. For your information, you can take bus No. 916 at Dongzhimen bus station, after getting off at Huairou Fangshan, you may charter a mini bus at a cost of CNY50.00 to CNY60.00 from Huairou District to Xizhazi Village.

Or, you can take the bus No. 936 (支) to Yanxi Huandao in Huairou District, where you can also take mini bus to Xizhazi Village. But both Bus No. 916 and bus No. 936 (支) only run between 10:00 and 15:00. Hope it is helpful.
