About:China Visa Renewal and Extension

Hello,

I am currently in China with and L visa. I recently got an L visa extension because my 60 day duration was about to run out.
My original L visa has a "cancelled" stamp on it and my new L visa extension expires Dec. 1. 2010.
I 'm a little confused by this because my original L visa was supposed to be good for 1 year with multiple entries.
Do I need to go to Hong Kong and renew my L visa or do I have to apply for a new L visa all together before Dec. 1?

Thanks,

David

You have to apply for a new L visa after Dec.1, 2010, your new L visa only permits you to stay in China till Dec.1. In fact, you don't need to apply for extension this time because you hold 1 year mutiple entries L visa with 60 days stay duration per entry, you can go to Hong Kong or Macau, then return to Mainland China for another 60 days stay duration. Now, the extension made your previous 1 year multiple-entry visa cancelled.
