About:Buy Tickets

I am arriving at the Kunming airport around midnight with a twelve hour layover. Is it possible to get transportation at this time to a close by hotel? Can I use an ATM card or will I need to get currency in advance? I'm concerned that I will not understand or be understood, will there be English speakers who can help?

Of course you could stay one night in downtown Kunming. The Airport is very close to the city area, and there will be taxi for your use at midnight. Just book a hotel in advance and write down its name and address in Chinese. The driver could understand you well by this way. Ps: you'd better prepare some RMB cash for taking taxi.
