Hi! I’ll b traveling to shanghai thru Hangzhou with 3 children (9-12 yrs) in dec. we’ll b arriving in Hangzhou around 1pm. should i book the train ticket in advance? how much does it cost? r there any interesting places for us to visit before proceed to shanghai? i hv intention to travel to the city near shanghai but i don't know where to go. Can u suggest me any city.

There are a lot of trains between Hangzhou and Shanghai, including many bullet trains and high speed trains. Thus, you could purchase the tickets directly at the train station. The ticket price varies from different seats and different trains. For example, it costs around CNY52 for one hard seat on bullet trains, while CNY82 on high speed trains. For the cities close to Shanghai, there are some like Hangzhou, Suzhou and etc. For the places of interest to visit in Hangzhou and Suzhou, you could refer to the Hangzhou Attractions(https://www.travelchinaguide.com/attraction/zhejiang/hangzhou/) and Suzhou Attractions(https://www.travelchinaguide.com/attraction/jiangsu/suzhou/) .
