About:China Visa Fees

Hello there, thanks for the posts. I am in a difficult situation. My visa has expired for 2days now! It expired in the process of waiting for a vacant seat back to my home, my travel agent failed to find a free seat and could only book after several days. Now, i got communication that after 3days from now, i can go home but the problem is that mt visa will now have expired by 5days. Another problem is that i forgot to register myself with the local police and i have been staying in an apartment that my business agent got for me in china. What is the best way procedure to take and what could be the consequences?

You are required to pay fine if you overstay in China after the visa expires. The rate is about 500 RMB per day, otherwise, you can not leave China and maybe get detained.

Thanks for the quick response Dear Mr. DUKE! I am Danstan again here! So if i pay a fine of those days, will the police charge me also for not reporting while i stayed in an apartment? I am really worried because my flight is in 2days time, where i will be overstayed by 5days! will I be detained for not reporting to police about my complet stay in china, with the 5 days-over stay? will i be able to be accepted to go home on time, and how about my future status of travelling again to china?

China is quite easy going with short term overstayers and you will simply be asked to pay 500 rmb per day...of course be apologetic.

Do not concern yourself with not having registered with the PSB, that is an unconnected issue which is not a problem unless you are specifically challenged by local police.

Thanks for the responses. I understand now! but kindly let me know if really this will affect my future travels in china(I mean being blacklisted or refused to enter china again). Because my honest reason is not very sounding: my travel agent just failed to get a free seat towards the time of my visa expiry! i feel this is a weak reason to Immigration, and therefore i feel might be in a problem. Please let me know what you think of this situation! Thanks
