About:Chinese Embassy in India

Hi,
I would like to go to Datang, China for selecting exporters of textiles to India. I read some of your comments here. I do not have a letter from chinese company as I will be going for first time and based on samples there, I will place my order. Although the purpose of this visit is business, I guess the best alternative is to apply a tourist visa. My doubt is that if I apply a tourist visa and after going there, I visit areas for business reasons, it is illegal? Going on a tourist visa but scouting for suppliers of textiles and placing orders to be shipped to INDIA?
Thanks,
Vishal

please don't worry, you can visit China for business reasons on a tourist visa, but you can't write the purpose of coming to China for business on the visa application form. Now you can't apply for business visa because no Chinese supplier can send you an visa notification form.
