About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

Hi there,

I'm a Sporean working in Beijing with a Z visa. My wife is Mainland Chinese passport holder. My baby is born in Beijing and has obtained Sporean citizenship & passport. My question is, can my baby obtain a dependent visa (China)?

From what i'd heard, my child is considered a China citizen by birth and since my wife is Chinese, the child has to apply for a Chinese passport. Thanks.

Your baby can obtain a China dependent visa. Your child can join China nationality or Singapore nationality, you can choose the nationality for your baby, it is not mandatory to join China nationality. Now, your baby has obtained Singapore citizenship & passport, he can't join China nationality because China government doesn't recognize dual nationality.
