About:China Transit Visa

Hi, I shall fly by Thai International Airlines from Penang (depart 810am)via Bangkok (depart 10.10am) to Beijing (arrive 3.50pm). I shall have to check out my luggages when arrive at Beijing airport but not leaving the airport because I am using my frequent flyer miles to get the free flight from Penang until Beijing only. I have booked another flight through a website to fly from Beijing to Vancouver by Air China (depart 11.30pm) about 8 hours later on the same day. Therefore after collecting my luggages, I have to go get my boarding pass and check in my luggages again at Air China counter. Please advise me whether I would need to apply for a China visa in this situation.

You don't need to apply for a China visa for the stopover in Beijing, but please show your valid passport, flight ticket to Vancouver and the bording pass to immigration officer.
