If you go to Hong Kong from Mainland China by holding valid passport, flight tickets to Italy, Italian Residence Permit, you won't need a visa or entry permit to Hong Kong for up to 7 days. otherwise, you need to apply for Hong Kong entry permit.

Then you need to apply for Entry Permit to Hong Kong and Macau for Mainland China Residents at the local Exit & Enter Department, the visa annotation to Hong Kong on the Entry Permit is required.
