Hi,

I wish to visit Beijing and Shanghai for a 2 weeks trip next year. I reside in Kolkata.
What do I need to do and can I apply at the China Consulate office in Kolkata?

The covering letter us is you need from your company which states your position, monthly salary, purpose to China, duration of stay, etc.

You need to submit your application for a Tourist visa (L) to Chinese consulate in Kolkata. The requirements are as follows:Application form, original passport valid for at least six months with at least 2 blank visa pages, One recent passport size photograph, One Passport photocopy, a covering letter from your company or employer addressed to the visa office, Photocopy of a confirmed return air ticket, and sometimes, you may be requested to supply proof of travel expenses.
