You can ask your friend to send your visa application to visa office of China embassy in Tokyo, the visa office works from 9:00 am to 12:00 am, Monday through Friday (except Chinese and Japanese holidays), you don't need to give him/her a note, just provide the below documents to him/her: A valid passport with enough blank pages.Certificate of alien registration One recently taken passport photo.A Chinese hotel reservation certificate and a two-way air ticket.tips: Transportation to the visa office of embassy IF you take subway, please get off at Roppongi station (exit NO.1a for Hibiya line, exit NO.A3 for Oedo line), It will be 10 minutes walk from subway station to the Embassy by Asahi Street.

Confirmation code from Delta and your basic itinerary are Ok, but the email confirmation for Hotel reservation is not accepted, you'd better get a confirmation letter for Hotel reservation
