About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

Ne haw,
urgent question,

I have been to china on 29/July with an X-Visa
to get into a school but i had an issue with the Fees and I have check for another school i have not notices that i have to get the resident permit, until now after giving the apartment back to the landlord so i can stay for one more week her before i leave to my home country and i will be back on the next semester February.

at the hotel wail booking i had been told that my visa is not valid i have checked today 31/October for why and found out that i must get the resident papers

I don't know what to do in my situation and if i am illegal or legal her in shanghai
,

as i was informed from the hotel reception to go to the foreign affairs and get an extension on Monday so i can stay the next week her my flight will be on Friday 5/November

I am not sure what to do?

Yes, X visa holders are required to apply for a resident permit within 30 days after entry. Meanwhile, the visa will be cancelled and the resident permit works as a multi-entry visa. So, now you can go to the Public Security Bureau or foreign affairs to apply for a visa extension.

Do you know if there are any fees for the lapse in visa coverage?

and if so does anybody know how much and how they enforce the fees(ex... charge per day, month etc...)

any legit info would be greatly appreciated

the lapse in visa coverage? do you mean overstay? if yes, the fine is about $100 per day.

Thank everyone i have been to detention house for 10 days and now am out i have to leave the country in 10 days that's what happens when you overcome your visa time
