What role did religion play in the Han Dynasty or Chinese civilization?

As I know, buddhism was introduced into China in Han Dynasty and Taoism was formed in that time period too.
Buddhism not only influenced people's way of thinking, but the architecture style. That's why there are many pagodas and temples in China. Also chinese Kungfu, Shaolin Kungfu was a branch of Buddhism. Just personal thinking.
