About:China Visa on Arrival

I am arriving Hong Kong on jan11 2011, thought of going to shenzen for a couple of days.
Visa on arrival for Canadian possible? I have no invitation or letter from a chinese company, just want to pop over to shenzen and back to honk kong.

Chinese government have stopped issuing visa on arrival at ports nowadays due to the Asian Games and Canton Fair, and this will end on Jan.2011. So, you can apply for it at that time. And there is no specific requirement for invitation letter, so, don't worry.
