About:China Train

I arrive in shanghai on 30 October.
I then want to travel by train to yiwu.
Can I buy train ticket on the day of departure?
I will not want sleeper as the trip is 2 to 3 hours.

Yes, you can buy the tickets on your departure date. And for the short trip, there is really no need to take sleepers.
