About:China Visa

Hi, I'm an Irish citizen currently living in Japan and would like to visit China on a tourist visa. I heard somewhere that I can only apply in Ireland. Is this the case or can I apply at the Chinese embassy in Tokyo. Thank you for your advice.

just to be sure you need to call or go directly to the nearest chinese consulate in japan if you could apply. if you have working or residence permit card then i think you can indeed apply. consulates from country to country differs about requirements for the applications of visas by foreign nationals

You can apply for China tourist visa at the Chinese embassy in Tokyo, the Japan Alien Registration Card or valid Japanese visa or other documents to prove your legal status in Japan is required. You can also know some information about China Tour Itineraries(https://www.travelchinaguide.com/tour/default.htm) as a reference for your trip.
