About:Hong Kong Visa Policy

Here is a previous post I was searching:

Hi, I will be visiting hk. I'm a permanent residence of USA but hold a Chinese passport. Do I need a visa into Macao?

Mr.Kyle replied:
If you just want to visit HK and Macao, you need to apply for an Exit-entry permit for traveling to & from Hong Kong & Macao.
But if you transit in HK on International Flight, you can stay in HK for a week without visa and the entry permit.

Is this saying you can transit in HK for a week, and during that week, you can ferry to Macau and back to HK without any problems?

Mr.Lee, yes, you can stay in Hong Kong for 7 days without entry permit if you hold China passport and through flight tickets to transit Hk. Please bear in mind that if you don't transit Hk, you need to apply for Hk entry permit in advance.

Chinese passport holders with Permanent Residence of USA are exempt from a visa to Macau for up to 7 days,

therefore, you won't face problems if you satisfy the above conditions.

Since we are transiting to thailand after hong kong, that means we can go based on the transit permit. From that, we can enter HK, ferry to Macau and back, then go to thailand, according to what you said. Thanks for answering that.

My last question is that to enter HK, I need prove my onward plane ticket to thailand as well as a valid visa. But thailand allows visa-on-arrival. Does this mean I only need to show onward flight tickets and not the visa for thailand?

You'd better provide your onwaid plane ticket and a valid visa to Thailand, then you won't face any problems. My advice is to get a Thai visa in advance.
