About:China Tourist Visa

Hi,

My mother will be visiting Xiamen for the first time and she was given only 10 days to stay in China. We purchased a ticket for a 3 weeks stay in china before she applied a visa. We asked the travelling agency the Philippines who arranged the visa to check with the CHina embassy in the Philippines if they can extend the visa. According to the travelling agency, as per CHina embassy in the Philippines, just follow the 10 days duration given and do not apply for an extension anymore because it might reflect on her if she will apply a visa again in the Philippines.

Can we just apply extension here in China? If she was given an extension here in China, will it reflect on her if she applies a visa again in the Philippines next year?

You can apply for visa extension at the Exit & Enter Department of Xiamen, in fact, your mother will be issued a new visa on the visa page of her passport which permits her to stay in China for a longer time. The visa officer of China embassy in Philippines will know that your mother applied for visa extension in Xiamen, however, it doesn't matter, it doesn't influence your mother's visa application in Philippines, please don't worry.
