About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

Hi,

One urgent question,

I hava a work card and alien permit and residence permit issued from beijing. My wife has a dependent residene permit. She has got a job in chengdu and company their issued a alien card and workpermit for her. Now we both have shifted to shanghai and my wife has got a new job here. Now the question is , weather the alien permit issued by her first employer is required to be cancelled or they can send it to her new emploer who can use it to issue her new work card? Her old work card was canceleld by the previous employer. If it is possible , will the mew emploer will be able to issue a new visa to her for coming year without my assistence.

Mr.David, the Alien Permit issued by her first employer should be cancelled. Her new employer needs to apply for new alien card and work permit for her again. Once the new employer can get the Alien Work Permit and Visa Notification Letter for her, she can get a new work visa without your assistance.

Thanks for help, But the new employer has discussed the situation with the old employer and and asked her to mail the alien permit. I am not sure weather he is aware of the process or she wants to submit the old one to get the new one issued !! No body seems to be sure. Anyways thanks.

Mr.David, if the new employer and old employer reach agreement, then the old Alien Work Permit can be used. In fact, it is almost up to her new employer, as long as the new employer can get the Alien Work Permit and Visa Notification Form for work visa application, your wife can get work visa.
