Most people would do a round island trip of Taiwan, From Taipei to Tai Chung, and then Kaohsiung, Tai Tung, Hualien, the mustsees are Taruko, Alishan, Sun Moon Lake and some local snack streets such as the street in Danshui, the best transport mode is taking the high speed train among the cities, and take other trains for other cities. The train tickets are available on the official website of Taiwan trains.
Have a nice trip!
