About:China Student Visa

I am currently working in China on a Z visa. I wish to study full time at a chinese university. Is it possible to change the visa to a student visa in china, or if not would I be able to apply for the student visa in Hong Kong? I would prefer not to have to travel back to the UK to apply.

You can not change a Z visa to X visa within China. You can try to apply in HK, but on their website they require applicants to be residents in HK. You are suggested to apply it in UK anyway.
