About:Great Wall of China

Dear Sir/Madam, we are currently teaching English in China in Hubei, so we are planning to visit Beijing in January during the Lunar New Year holidays. We'd like to visit the Great wall for a day, but we can't decide which part of it is best to go to. We are looking for some cheapest way to travel there either by bus or by train as we have quite a low budget. Please advice us the best possible route to take from Beijing. We would also appreciate any advice you can give on where we could stay in Beijing, so that it's in the centre, but not expensive. Thank you very much for the website and for your care about tourists, your information is very helpful!

You can go to Badaling section. You can go there either by bus no.919 at Deshengmen or by train at Beijing North Railway station.

About budget hotel I think you can try this one:
Home Inn(如家快捷酒店), one is at Qianmen, about 10 minutes' walk to Tiananmen Square. Another is near Xuanwumen, about 3 kilometers to Tiananmen Square, but more close to the subway Xuanwumen Station.
