What are the chances of getting return tickets to Xian from Beijing if we purchase 3 to 4 days in advance for late oct travel?

Train tickets during late Oct. are not under that great demand than holidays. However, to assure getting the tickets, you would better buy it around 10 days before or arrange it online in advance.
