About:Guangzhou Taxi & Water Bus

for an 8 hours staying in Guangzhou would it be a good idea to rent a taxi for the day?
how much could this cost?

Yes, renting a van to have a tour around the city is a good idea, it would make your trip easy. The fare would be around CNY200-300.
