About:Guangzhou Travel Guide

Can anyone tell me if it is extremely insane to to travel during the 1st day or 2nd day of the LUnar New Year from Hong Kong to Guanzhou on KCR due to hte massive crowds on cross border travel during this time?

Hi, general speaking, it is not a good time to travel to China Mainland during that time, but it is OK if you plan to do so.

Dear Ms Wendy,

If you plan to shop, then lst day and 2nd day of Chinese New Year is not a good time to be in Guangzhou. The wholesale market shopping centres will only open after the 8th day of Chinese New Year. Shops in Beijing Road will only open on 2nd day of Chinese New year. Hope this information help you, as I was there earlier this year during Chinese New Year period. Over at Zhuhai, it is completely different as they are open all throughout during the Chinese New Year period.
