Hi,I'm planning a trip with my wife on 2nd week of November to Xinjiang, however, will be there for only 3 days. Though it's a short trip, i'll like to experience Xinjiang's food, culture and history. Can you recommend a destination for a short visit?Btw, do we need special permit/ visa to enter Xinjiang? (like Tibet). How's the weather in mid Nov? Thanks :-)

For only 3 days, I think Urumqi is a good destination, as the capital city of Xinjiang Autonomous Region, it gathered the food and goods of every part of Xinjiang. You don't need special permit to enter Xinjiang.

Urumqi is the capital of the Xinjiang. You can go there to experience all of those Xinjiang uniques. You do not need special permit or visa to enter Xinjiang. It will be cold in mid Nov. in Xinjiang as the low temperature may be about -8C.
