I have my tickets booked for 10th October 2010 (04:40 am) but when I went to submit my visa application on 30-Sep-2010 in Mumbai their office was closed. This is a business visa and an important official visit. I am now planning to go to the Consulate in person on 08-Oct-2010 and submit my application and request for grant of visa on the same day itself. Is this possible? Secondly is the China Embassy in India working on 09-Oct-2010 and 10-Oct-2010? I got to know from my Chinese Colleagues that in China Embassy is open on 09-Oct-2010 and 10-Oct-2010 since 01-Oct to 07-Oct are Government holidays? Please reply at the earliest.

it's possible to get it since they provide the same day service. There is no notice that they will open on Oct.9 and 10. So, you'd better go there on Oct.8, the only day that they have no excuse for day-off.
