About:Baggage Allowance for International Flights

Rice:
Hi, I'm flying in from Malaysia to Shanghai this friday, on an international flight. My husband says that the rice bags are sold in big bags, so I'd like to take some rice with me (maybe about 400gms) just for personal use. Also, he said that the buying and selling of knives are prohibited in China for the moment. Thus, can I wrap a small kitchen knife and take it with me in my checked in luggage?

No need to bring them at all. Rice are sold either in big bags or in bulk in China. You can buy as little as you like.
Also, you can easily buy kitchen knives here too. I have never heard about the prohibition.
