my visa says that i'm allowed to enter china on 10/3 but have to leave by 10/9, the roundtrip tickets i've presented when i initially applied stated that i'll arrive in china (beijing) on 10/3 and will go back home via shanghai on 10/11. however, the visa given to me by the consul is only good for 7 days. if i decided to stay in china for just a day beyond my 7days visa period, are they going to fine me?

Explain to them before your visa expiration date. then they will give you the another 2 days.
