About:China Customs Declaration

I'm planning to ask my brother to send me the spare parts inside my computer to Beijing. How much duty or tax will I have to pay when it gets to Beijing?
Also, is it advisable to buy computer spare parts in Beijing for high performance computers, or are they hit by higher taxes than in USA?

Spare parts for what computer brand? If you ask you brother to send the parts to you, it may costs 15-17 percent tax through the custom. It depends on the mail company. There are people without paying the taxi too.

The computer doesn't have a brand. It's a custom-built one (DIY). Only the spare parts are branded. I will be using USPS (not UPS).

As I konw, if the total value is less than RMB1,000, then you do not need to pay any tax if they arrive in china. But if it exceeds, you will need to pay the tax, tax rate is 20%.
Maybe you can go to coomputer markets in Beijing to see if it is cheaper to buy them in china. The marked price has already included the tax and is the final price.
