About:China Embassy in Thailand

We are British Citizens currently living in Thailand. We will be visiting China on a cruise ship calling at Beihai, Haikou, Hong Kong, Xiamen and Shanghai. Can we apply for a tourist visa at the consular office in Bangkok? Should it be for double entry or 6mth multi entry and how soon before our planned trip can we make the application?
Thank you in advance

Mr.Traylor, you can have a try, but I have heard of that the Chinese embassy there doesn't accept applications from short time visitors. You need to apply for a 6 months multi entry visa to China, and it should be started one or two months early before your departure.
